 Many teachers supported the students on the Walk to School activity by meeting up with the students and walking to school with them. The principal and Tooele High School Cheerleaders met the students as they came to school and passed out granola bars and pencils with the logo "Sharp Kids Walk to School Safely" written on them.
When children have teachers and support staff who set a good example, physical activity among children improves.
Students decided they wanted to walk the equivalent number of miles as if they really walked to China to retrieve their mascot - the mercat - whom they left there last year. |
