Please register for the Food Handler Permit Class in Suite #140.
The Tooele County Health Department requires all those who work
in the food service industry to have a "Food Handler's Permit ". To obtain a permit, food service workers must attend the Food Handler Class held at the health department or complete the Food Handler Class Online.
Classes are held at 4:00 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of the month. Attendees should plan on a full two hours to complete the class,
which includes a written exam. Picture identification is required at the time of registration. Individuals who arrive late for the class will be unable to attend and must attend the next class.
Participants should arrive 15 minutes early to register.

Fee for the Food Handler Permits will be $15.00.
The health department now offers the Food Handler Permit Course which can be completed on line. The on-line fee will be $21.00 and may take up to two hours to complete. To learn more, follow this link.

Class participants will discuss some of the following in accordance with the Utah Code:
Proper
food handling
food borne illness
Handwashing techniques
Proper food cooking / cooling / holding temperatures
Proper cleansing and sanitation of utensils, pans, cooking surfaces,
etc.
After passing the exam, the employee will receive:
A Food Handlers Permit which is good for three years
(permits will be issued the night of class following the grading of the exam
or permit will be mailed the following day)
