Prevent Sales to YouthIt is against the law to sell tobacco to any person under the age of 19. This includes cigarettes, smokeless tobacco, and related products.  Violators will be prosecuted by law.

Are you are a retailer? Are your clerks well trained to prevent sales to youth?  The Tooele County Health Department will provide training to your staff on selling tobacco to youth.  The fines for selling for both store owners and clerks are high.  It simply isn't worth the risk.   Phone 435-277-2310 or email the Web Master.

 
 
 
STORE OWNERS with a violation of UTAH YOUTH TOBACCO LAWS may receive these fines:

First Offense

$300.00 fine

Second Offense

$750.00 fine

Third Offense

$1,000 Fine plus a 30 day license suspension
 
STORE Clerks with a violation of UTAH YOUTH TOBACCO LAWS may receive these fines:

Class A Misdemeanor 76-3-104

Fine not to exceed $2,500  76-3-301

Class B Misdemeanor 76-3-104

Fine not to exceed $1,000  76-3-301

Class C Misdemeanor 76-3-104

Fine not to exceed $ 750.00 76-3-301
