Most tobacco users began using as an adolescent or teen. The longer we, as a society, can delay the age of the "first use" of tobacco products by the youth, the higher the likelihood is they will choose not to use tobacco. To support this effort, the health department works in conjunction with tobacco retailers to prevent retail sales to youth.
