The Five - A  - Day Campaign is a national effort to encourage adults, teens, and children to eat 5 fruit and/or vegetable servings per day. Five A DayThe Tooele County Health Department has been participating in the program for several years by offering elementary school children activities, assemblies, and grocery store tours.

If you have a third grader in your home, chances are your child has participated
in the Five - A - Day Program.  This program includes a field trip to a local grocery store produce department. Most children will have the opportunity to taste a new fruit which they have never tried before.

The Five - A - Day program began as a result of a telephone survey given to 2,837 Americans aged 18 years of old and older. The reason for the study was to determine:
5-A-Dayfruit and veggie consumption (eating) of the average american
5-A-Dayhow people felt, in general, about fruits and veggies
