Tooele County Health Department's Emergency Preparedness Plan includes a comprehensive after action planning piece.  It includes an indepth review of the emergency or disaster.  Professional partners from all agencies will review the event, focus on what happened,  and determine how and why it occurred. The focal point of  after action planning is behavior. This review will occur during the emergency, as well as after.

An evaluation process will determine the strengths to keep them in place as well as improve weak areas.  Every emergency or disaster gives the team the opportunity to refine the emergency preparedness plan.

Some components of the after action planning include:
Determining where the weak areas occurred
Expand on the successful areas to increase their effectiveness
Evaluate performance to previous training to ensure all participants are properly trained
media involvement
Evaluate leader and team performance
