No further preventable harm to Responding Emergency Parties

OSHA guidelines are followed carefully.  Some of these guidelines include:

	Appropriate training to all responders and staff
	Set up and use a "Central Command" system to avoid potential harm
	Ensure the written emergency preparedness plan defines all roles:
	--Direct line of authority      --Clearly defined roles and responsibilities      --Clear and constant communication      --Site security from qualified personnel      --Medical and emergency protocol and procedure      --Provide all protective equipment along with proper training for use and disposal

Worker health and safety is a critical element of  the health department's Emergency Preparedness plan. Tooele County Health Department, Utah Department of Health, the other 11 local health departments, along with other agencies and partners work as a team to ensure worker health and safety.
