Fluoride protects teeth
and helps prevent tooth decay. Adding it to the water
supply ensures that all people in the community benefit, regardless
of income, education, or access to dental care.
It costs far less for a fluoridation program (only 50 cents
per person per year) than it does to fill dozens of cavities
in that one person over a lifetime.
Fluoridation has been supported and encouraged by a large
majority of the scientific and medical community, as well
as by the general public.
