Through the Tooele County Health Department Family Planning Program, oral contraceptives, condoms, and Depo Provera are available to those who qualify.  If you would like to get on birth control, but feel it is too expensive, call the Tooele County Health Department and speak with a family planning nurse.

Family Planning counseling can help you learn what your birth control options are.  Your family planning physician can help you choose which one will work the best for you.

Planning your future is important, especially when it comes to preparing for your family. The best start for your future baby begins right now, before you become pregnant. There are many things you and your partner can do to give your baby (and your family) the best possible start in life.  How does Family Planning help? It helps you achieve the goal of planning your family.  Studies have shown that on a list of 1 to 10 reasons for sexual intimacy,, having a baby was #8.

Because healthy women are more likely to have a healthy baby, good health care before pregnancy makes sense. Go talk to someone at a clinic or talk to your health care provider about having a physical exam and counseling first! Go in for this visit at least three months before you want to become pregnant.

The pre-pregnancy visit may be the single most important pregnancy visit. In a pre-pregnancy visit, your health care provider will discuss some or all of the following:

Famil Planning Programany risk factors you may have (for example, diabetes, HIV exposure, & past illness)
Famil Planning Programproper nutrition, now and in the future

Famil Planning Programhow the Women, Infant, and Children (WIC) program works
